CGBSE Class 12 Results Declared: 83.04% Pass Rate, Jigyasu Verma Tops

The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) declared the Class 12 board examination results 2026 on 29 April 2026.

The state recorded an overall pass percentage of 83.04%. A total of 43 students secured a position in the top 10 merit list.

Jigyasu Verma of Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Palari (Balodabazar) topped the state with 98.60% marks. Omni Verma from Swami Atmanand Utkrisht Hindi Medium School (Bemetara) secured the second position with 98.20%.
Krish Mahant of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Chhaal (Raigarh) ranked third with 97.80%.

Students from districts including Raigarh, Jashpur, Mahasamund, Dhamtari, Gariaband, and Kanker also featured in the top 10 list.

Government Reward

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced a ₹1.5 lakh reward for the state toppers.
Topper Jigyasu Verma, whose father runs a grocery shop, said he plans to pursue a career in engineering.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Education Minister Gajendra Yadav were present at the ministry during the result declaration.
Education Minister Gajendra Yadav advised students to remain patient, maintain a positive outlook, and focus on their next steps. He also encouraged students with lower scores to explore new opportunities.

Performance Trends

Data from the past four years shows a steady improvement in results.
The pass percentage has remained above 80% since 2024.
Girls outperformed boys, continuing the previous trend.
