CT scan facility worth ₹8 crore launched at Chirmiri hospital

Chhattisgarh Health and Family Welfare Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal inaugurated a ₹8-crore CT scan machine at Chirmiri District Hospital on 1 October 2026. The new facility will allow local patients suffering from severe illnesses or medical emergencies to undergo diagnostic scans without travelling to other cities or relying on private facilities.

Marking his birthday at the hospital, Jaiswal met admitted patients to inquire about their well-being and distributed fruits and essentials. He also held discussions with doctors, nursing staff, and healthcare workers regarding hospital operations.

The introduction of the CT scan unit will provide prompt diagnostic services locally, saving time and medical expenditure for residents. Early diagnosis will enable doctors to initiate treatment plans without delay. Jaiswal stated that the state government is expanding modern healthcare facilities across public hospitals to reduce dependence on private centers in major cities.

Highlighting Chirmiri’s historical contribution to coal production, Jaiswal noted that the region needed upgraded healthcare infrastructure. Under Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the state is strengthening healthcare services across districts. The facility in Chirmiri will benefit patients from Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur (MCB) district as well as adjoining border areas.
