Raipur: Sukma Police arrested three alleged inter-state ganja carriers and seized 32.765 kg of ganja, mobile phones and cash. The total value of the seized property is estimated at around Rs 16.51 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off on September 28, a team from Sukma Kotwali Police allegedly intercepted three persons near Konda Dheng while they were carrying the contraband in trolley bags.
Police identified the arrested men as Mohammad Alim (19) from Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh; Mohammad Muzammil Qureshi (32) from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh; and Salim Kankar Sheikh (45) from Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.
The accused were booked under Section 20(B)(ii)(C) of the NDPS Act at Sukma police station in connection with FIR No. 81/2026. They were produced before a court and sent to judicial remand.
According to police, the seizure included 32.765 kg of ganja, mobile phones and cash, with the total value estimated at Rs 16,51,410.
Police said the action was part of its ongoing crackdown on illegal transportation and trafficking of narcotic substances. So far this year, Sukma Police have taken action against 24 inter-state groups and seized narcotics worth around Rs 3.31 crore.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Sukma SP Mayank Gurjar and supervision of Additional SP Manoj Tirkey.
