RAIPUR:
The Chhattisgarh government has hiked the monthly stipend for postgraduate medical and dental students in state-run colleges.
The Medical Education Department issued an order following approval from the Finance Department on 26 September 2026. The revised stipend rates will come into effect on 1 October 2026.
Under the new structure, monthly stipends for first-year postgraduate medical students will increase to ₹85,050 from ₹67,500. Second-year medical students will receive ₹90,027 per month, up from ₹71,450, while third-year students will get ₹93,996 instead of ₹74,600.
Postgraduate dental students across government colleges will receive revised stipends matching the PG medical rates. First-year dental students will draw ₹85,050 per month, up from ₹53,500. The monthly stipend for second-year dental students will rise to ₹90,027 from ₹56,700, and for third-year students, the amount will increase to ₹93,996 from ₹59,200.
Under Secretary Pooran Lal Sahu issued the order on behalf of the Governor following a proposal submitted by the Directorate of Medical Education.
