RAIPUR
Raipur Municipal Corporation has ordered a complete ban on the slaughter of animals and sale of meat within its limits on 25 September and 26 September 2026.
The restriction will remain in force for Anant Chaturdashi on 25 September, and Samvatsari and Uttam Kshama under the Paryushan festival on 26 September.
The health department of Raipur Municipal Corporation issued the directives following instructions from Mayor Meenal Chaubey.
Zone health officers and sanitation inspectors will inspect their respective areas to ensure strict compliance with the order. Officials will monitor shops and markets to prevent the sale of meat during these two days.
Mayor Meenal Chaubey has directed officials to inspect hotels, restaurants, and eateries across the city. Authorities will seize meat items immediately if found on sale at any establishment during the specified period and initiate legal action against violators.
