Raipur: The 12th Telangana Golconda Masters Golf Tournament will be played at the Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA) course from September 1 to 4, 2026. Organised by the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (DP World PGTI), the tournament carries a ₹1 crore prize purse.
Telangana Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and DP World PGTI President Kapil Dev announced the tournament at a joint press conference at the HGA on Saturday.
A field of 132 golfers will compete in the event. Telangana Tourism has supported the tournament since 2015. Event partners include The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace, The Q Golf Studio by Playroot Golf, and HGA.
Tour partners include DP World, Axis Bank, Amul, Enerlyte, Air India Maharaja Club, Kalyani, Golf Plus Monthly and Golf Design India.
DP World PGTI Order of Merit leader Saptak Talwar will feature alongside Indian professionals Honey Baisoya, Veer Ahlawat, Rashid Khan, Akshay Sharma and Om Prakash Chauhan.
Defending champion Jamal Hossain and Badal Hossain of Bangladesh, Stepan Danek of the Czech Republic, N Thangaraja and Mithun Perera of Sri Lanka, Subash Tamang of Nepal, Joshua Seale of Uganda, and Koichiro Ishikawa and Taiga Tanaka of Japan will lead the foreign challenge.
Hyderabad professionals Mohammad Azhar, Vishesh Sharma and Rupinder Singh Gill will lead the local field.
The tournament is part of the Race to DP World India Championship, which determines the DP World PGTI number one player. The top 24 players on the DP World PGTI Order of Merit from this race will secure spots in the season-ending DP World India Championship.
Krishna Rao said the tournament will provide a platform to showcase Telangana’s tourism potential to an international audience. He noted that the venue, set against the backdrop of the historic Golconda Fort, highlights Telangana as a golf tourism destination.
Kapil Dev thanked Telangana Tourism and the HGA for their support, stating that the strong player field and course conditions promise a competitive tournament.
HGA Captain Jaswinder Singh Birgi said the course will offer high-level competition, with players competing for a trophy featuring the design of Golconda Fort.
