ACB Files Chargesheets Against Three Government Officials in Separate Corruption Cases

Raipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Bilaspur Unit, on Tuesday filed chargesheets against three government officials before Special Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act Courts in connection with three separate bribery cases in Korba, Bilaspur, and Janjgir-Champa districts.

In the first case, a chargesheet was filed before the Special PC Act Court, Korba, against Pradeep Mishra, a clerk posted at the Block Education Office (BEO), Podi Uproda, Korba. Mishra was arrested on May 29, 2026, after allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from complainant Amritlal Baghel.

In the second case, the ACB submitted a chargesheet before the Special PC Act Court, Bilaspur, against Vijay Pandey, a clerk in the office of the Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Bilaspur. He was caught red-handed on May 10, 2026, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from complainant Devendra Kashyap.

In the third case, the ACB filed a chargesheet before the Special PC Act Court, Janjgir-Champa, against S.N. Mishra, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posted at Chandrapur Police Station in Sakti district. He was arrested on May 10, 2026, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from complainant Shiv Bareth.

All three accused have been booked under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018. The cases will now proceed before the respective Special PC Act Courts.
