RAIPUR
Raipur Police carried out a massive late-night combing operation across the West Zone to curb crime, control antisocial elements, and strengthen public safety between the intervening night of 28 June and 29 June 2026. The operation was conducted under the guidance and monitoring of Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sandeep Patel.
A joint team of nearly 130 police officers participated in the drive. The force included Additional DCP Rahul Dev Sharma and ACPs Ishu Agrawal (Azad Chowk), Devansh Singh Rathore (Purani Basti), and Navneet Patil (New Rajendra Nagar).
Station House Officers (SHOs) from Purani Basti, DD Nagar, Amanaka, Azad Chowk, Kabir Nagar, Saraswati Nagar, New Rajendra Nagar, Mujgahan, and Tikrapara police stations led their respective teams.
Before the operation commenced, the entire force assembled at the Tikrapara Police Station premises. Additional DCP Rahul Dev Sharma briefed the personnel and directed them to take strict legal action against criminals, absconders, and suspects, while maintaining public cooperation.
Following the briefing, police teams launched targeted searches in sensitive localities, crime-prone areas, RDA colonies, and BSUP colonies. In the Kota area under Saraswati Nagar Police Station, teams rounded up 22 suspects for questioning and verification. Officers also raided the residences of history-sheeters and listed criminals, warning them against engaging in further criminal activities.
Special checks were carried out in BSUP Colony (Changorabhatha), RDA Colony (Sanjay Nagar Boriakhurd), BSUP Colony (Bhathagaon), Krishna Nagar, Bhawani Nagar, and BSUP Colony (Kabir Nagar).
During the drive, police executed 10 permanent warrants and 6 arrest warrants. The teams tracked and verified 25 monitored criminals, 45 listed goons, and 2 knife-wielders. Preventive action was taken against 20 individuals, while 22 suspects were issued strict warnings.
The Raipur Police said such combing operations against criminals, history-sheeters, and antisocial elements will continue to ensure a safe environment for citizens.
