Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka will inaugurate the prestigious “Eastern Slam 2026” international squash tournament at the Squash Complex in Budhapara, Raipur, at 1 pm on 22 June 2026. This is the first time the state is hosting the event.
The Chhattisgarh Squash Association is organising the six-day tournament from 22 June to 27 June 2026, under the aegis of the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI) and the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association.
The tournament holds the Asian Squash Federation (ASF) Silver Status and is an SRFI 5-Star Ranking event. It also carries satellite recognition from the Professional Squash Association (PSA) and the World Squash Federation (WSF).
A total of 349 players from 21 states, including several national and international athletes, are participating in the tournament.
The host state, Chhattisgarh, will be represented by 49 players competing across various age divisions.
The tournament features matches across 12 categories. These include under-11, under-13, under-15, under-17, and under-19 brackets for boys and girls, alongside senior men’s and women’s categories.
The event offers an opportunity for players to earn national and international ranking points. It aims to place Chhattisgarh on the international squash map while boosting sports culture and sports tourism in the region.
