Raipur:
Raipur police arrested a 27-year-old man seven months after the murder of a four-year-old boy in the Amanaka area of the city. Investigators revealed that the accused allegedly killed the child because he considered him an obstacle to his relationship with the boy’s mother.
The accused, identified as Jaideep Singh, a resident of Tatibandh, Raipur, was arrested on 10 June 2026 following sustained efforts by the Amanaka police and a special investigation team.
The case dates back to 1 November 2025, when four-year-old Mayank Mishra was found unconscious under suspicious circumstances. Family members rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The Amanaka police station initially registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation.
The post-mortem examination confirmed that the child died due to strangulation. Based on the medical findings, police registered a murder case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and intensified the investigation.
