Condition of fishermen improve after agricultural status given to fisheries: CM Baghel

Raipur: “Ever since our government was formed, expeditious work has been done for the economic empowerment of every section of the society, whether it is a farmer or a laborer or a fisherman. Numerous works have been done for the betterment of the fishermen class. We have created Fisheries policy which is very conducive for people involved in fish farming and continuous works are being done for the betterment of the ecosystem of fisheries, said chief minister Bhupesh Baghel.
He was addressing the Dhivar Samaj Mahasammelan organized in the auditorium of the Agricultural University.

He added that we have given agriculture status to fisheries, due to which now fishermen are availing zero percent loan facility. Conditions of the fishermen of the state have improved as they have started getting similar facilities like farmers. With this, the standard of living for fishermen is improving day by day, fishermen of the state are moving towards economic growth rapidly and will contribute towards a better future for fisheries in India.
The chief minister also administered the oath for the newly elected office bearers of the fishermen society.

On this occasion, Fishermen’s Welfare Board chairman MR Nishad also addressed the gathering. Parliamentary secretaries including Kunwar Singh Nishad, Vikas Upadhyay and Chhattisgarh Housing Board chairman Kuldeep Juneja were present on this occasion.
