Raipur Police Bust Inter-State Work-From-Home Scam Gang, 3 Arrested Wanted in 13 States

Raipur Police has arrested three members of a major cyber fraud syndicate involved in duping people across 13 states by offering fake work-from-home jobs. The accused were nabbed after coordinated raids in Rajasthan and Maharashtra and have been sent to judicial custody.

The arrested accused have been identified as Bhawani Singh and Utpal Pancharia from Rajasthan, and Sahit Santosh from Maharashtra.

How the fraud was carried out

The investigation began after complaints were filed by Paras Kumar Dheevar from Rakhi and Lalit Sahu from Dharsiwa. Paras Kumar reported a loss of ₹24 lakh, while Lalit Sahu was cheated of ₹34 lakh.

During technical surveillance, police found the accused operated through Telegram channels. Victims were lured with promises of high earnings for simple online tasks such as giving reviews and likes. After gaining trust, fraudsters asked them to deposit money as “registration” or “security” fees and then cut off all communication.
