5 dead in separate road accidents across Chhattisgarh

Raipur:
Five people, including a married couple, lost their lives in two separate road accidents in Raipur and Korba district on Thursday night.
In the state capital, three people died following a collision between a motorcycle and a bicycle in the Vidhan Sabha police station area. Police officials said Shubham Yadav (28) was heading home to Mandhar with his friend Lav on a motorcycle around 8 pm. Near Baroda, the two-wheeler struck a bicycle carrying Bhojram Vishwakarma (58) and his wife Pyari Vishwakarma (53).
The impact of the crash left all four individuals severely injured. While the Vishwakarma couple died on the spot, Shubham Yadav was rushed to Balaji Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. His friend is currently undergoing treatment.
Two killed in head-on collision near Korba
In a separate incident in Korba district, two persons died and five others were injured after two cars collided head-on near Jharna Mode on the Kendai National Highway. The accident occurred around 12 am under the Morga police post limits.
The collision was severe, airbags deployed in both vehicles and the cars were badly damaged. One of the deceased has been identified as Dhan Singh Yadav. Police said four people were travelling in an Alto car while three were in the other vehicle — all residents of the Korbi area.
Police team reached the spot and shifted the injured to the health centre in Podi Uproda. Two critically injured persons have been referred to the District Medical College Hospital for further treatment.
The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination and informed the family members. Preliminary investigation suggests high speed as the primary cause of the accident. Further probe is underway.
