Agriculture Ministry to launch beta version of FGR Portal as a pilot project in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: The Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare will virtually launch the beta version of its Farmer Grievance Redressal (FGR) Portal as a pilot project in Chhattisgarh on Thursday. Chhattisgarh has been selected keeping in view the farmer friendly policies and programmes of the state government. The Union Ministry has asked the Chhattisgarh Agriculture Production Commissioner to ensure online participation of agriculture department officials along with farmer representatives, farmers and Panchayats officials in this programme.

Meanwhile, Farmer Grievance Redressal (FGR) Portal has been developed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India for redressal of grievances of farmers across the country especially related to crop insurance. After its successful implementation in Chhattisgarh, the same will be implemented across the country later.

The Chhattisgarh state was selected by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India seeing better performance of the state in the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and being the leading state in terms of payment of insurance claim amount. Besides, Chhattisgarh has also witnessed remarkable results of Integrated Farmer Portal developed by the Union Ministry of Agriculture for registration of farmers, purchase of paddy at support price, Rajiv Gandhi Nyay Yojana, and Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Promotion Scheme.

The beta version of FGR will be launched on Thursday at 11 am. Through the FGR portal, farmers will be able to get solutions to their problems related to farming, especially crop insurance. The problems and complaints reported by the farmers through telephone or mobile will be registered online in this portal and they will get information about resolution of the same online.
