Bilaspur district court receives bomb threat via email; police find no explosives

Raipur

Security agencies went into a high alert on Thursday after the Bilaspur district court received an email threatening to blow up the premises. Police cordoned off the court complex and conducted an extensive search operation using dog squads and bomb disposal units.

The threat, sent by an unidentified person, reached the official email address of the district court at approximately 11 am. Civil Line Station House Officer (SHO) Summat Sahu confirmed that teams inspected all sections of the building, including judges’ chambers.

The search yielded no suspicious objects or explosives. Following the sanitisation of the premises, officials confirmed that the threat was a hoax.

Cyber cell personnel are currently tracing the IP address and origin of the email to identify the sender. The local police stated that the situation is under control and security measures at the court have been tightened.
