Raipur

A tragic incident was reported from Kharepathra village under Amleepadar police station limits on Tuesday morning, where a Class 5 student was found dead after reportedly hanging himself from a tree. The child’s body was discovered on a tree about 100 metres from his house, triggering panic and grief among family members and villagers.

According to initial information, the student had reportedly been mentally disturbed for the past week. Family members told police that he had attended school only two days in the last 10 days. He was also reportedly addicted to mobile phones and spent long hours on them. Relatives said they had noticed changes in his behaviour and daily routine recently.

Upon receiving information, Amleepadar police reached the spot, took the body into custody and conducted an inquest. The police have started an investigation and are questioning the family to understand the circumstances and the reported stress the child may have been facing.

A pall of grief has descended on the village following the incident. Villagers said it was deeply distressing for a child so young to end his life in such a manner. Police said no suicide note was found at the spot and a detailed investigation is underway.
