Raipur Police arrests two for uploading child sexual abuse material

Raipur – The Raipur Police have arrested two men for allegedly uploading and circulating child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on social media. The accused have been identified as Ramavatar Kumar Nishad and Mukesh Garg.
The arrests were made based on a tip-off received from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) under the Ministry of Home Affairs’ CCPWC (Cyber Crime Prevention Against Women and Children) scheme. The police acted on a cyber tip-line CD, which indicated that two mobile numbers were being used to upload and share obscene videos of children.
The two men have been booked under Section 67(B) of the Information Technology Act. Two mobile phones, which were allegedly used to commit the offence, have been seized. Nishad, a resident of Devri Dhamdha in Durg, and Garg, from Mohrenga in Bemetara district, have been sent to judicial custody.
