Raipur: Situated in the lap of mother nature filled with aesthetically pleasing scenic beauty and a vast water body, Koriya district has got a new tourist destination. The chief minister recently inaugurated “Jhumka Island” situated in the middle of Jhumka Reservoir. Seeing this picturesque island surrounded by water all around, it will not be an exaggeration to say that the tourists will be blown away by the enticing beauty that Jhumka Island has to offer.
The Collector informed the chief minister that earlier this island was in a desolate condition, with hard work and dedication, the development of this spot has been completed within one and a half months work that has shaped it’s beautiful and naturally soothing appearance. Baghel praised the beautification work of Jhumka Island, he also gave a tourism tip to the administration, he asked to build cottages on the banks of the reservoir,so that tourists can avail the facility of leisure-stay surrounded by the beautiful vast water body.
Chief Minister reached the island by riding a boat
The Chief Minister reached Jhumka Island in the middle of the reservoir while riding a boat on behalf of the Boat Club of Jhumka Reservoir. During this, the convoy of the chief minister was seen on the water. He was escorted to the island by a group of jetski riders.
On arrival, the chief minister was welcomed by the Karma Nritya Dal with their presentation. The chief minister inaugurated the Jhumka Island by cutting the ribbon. He inaugurated the ‘I love Korea’ selfie point equipped with LED lights on the island by switching on the button. The chief minister launched the website of Korea Tourism on the island itself. A film based on Korea’s Tourism was also screened. He also planted a mango plant on the island as a symbol of luck.
