FIR Filed Against TMC MP Mahua Moitra for Offensive Remark Against Amit Shah

Raipur: The Raipur Police have registered an FIR against former Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra. The case was filed on the basis of a complaint alleging that Moitra made a statement inciting the murder of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The complaint was lodged at the Rampur Police Station by Dharmendra Samoli, a local citizen. According to him, he saw the statement by Moitra on social media, which he found “very frightening and terror-inducing.” He claimed that the remark went against the constitutional principles of the country and posed a threat to peaceful citizens.

The complaint further stated that Moitra’s statement could disrupt peace and public order, and if unchecked, might encourage others to resort to violence against political opponents.

Based on the allegations, an FIR has been registered under Sections 196, 197, and 109 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The Raipur Police have begun their investigation. So far, neither Moitra nor the Trinamool Congress has issued any official statement on the matter.
