UNICEF in collaboration with CG police organizes capacity building workshop for police officers

Raipur: Chhattisgarh director general of police Ashok Juneja inaugurated a two day long workshop for capacity building of the Nodal Officers of Special Juvenile Police Unit and child welfare police officers posted in the police stations of the state. The workshop has been organized under the joint aegis of Chhattisgarh Police and UNICEF. 140 participants from different districts of the state are participating in the workshop. Detailed training will be given regarding the related laws, amendments in laws and smooth operation of child friendly police stations.

Addressing the trainees and officers present in the opening ceremony, DGP Juneja said that children are the future of the nation and the role of police is very important in the direction of protection of children. The responsibility of the police is important in the direction of bringing children and juveniles who violate the law into the mainstream. Therefore, it is necessary that along with the police working in the field of child protection, all other policemen should also be trained in this direction. Chhattisgarh Police officers and UNICEF have taken a commendable initiative in this direction, which will continue in future.

On this occasion, the guide prepared by DGP Ashok Juneja and UNICEF CAP expert Shyam Sudhir Bandi was also released. Senior officials of police headquarters and UNICEF were present on the occasion.
