Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has appealed to donate blood and save lives on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. Baghel said that World Blood Donor Day is celebrated around the world every year on 14 June to promote blood donation and raise awareness about the need to donate blood regularly.
He added that the World Blood Donor Day slogan given by the World Health Organization for this year is “Donating blood is an act of solidarity. Join the effort and save lives”. Even today, many times blood is not easily available to people in emergency situations. Blood is essential to help people survive in emergency situations, illness, accidents and childbirth cases. Mr. Baghel said that people should understand the importance of blood donation as there is no harm in donating blood.
