A pulsating super over climax marked the start of the Chhattisgarh Cricket Premier League (CCPL) Season 2, as Bilaspur Bulls edged past Raipur Rhinos in a nerve-wracking finish at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium, Nava Raipur, on Thursday.
Leading from the front, Bilaspur Bulls’ captain and star all-rounder Shashank Singh played a crucial knock of 41 runs off just 25 balls, anchoring his team to a competitive total of 151/6 in 20 overs. His aggressive yet composed innings set the tone for what would become an exhilarating contest.
Batting first after losing the toss, Bilaspur Bulls also saw contributions from Prateek Yadav (27) and Ayush Pandey (24). For Raipur Rhinos, Shreyam Sundaram stood out with the ball, claiming two important wickets.
In response, Raipur Rhinos matched the score, posting 151/5 in 20 overs, thanks to Harsh Sharma’s 42-run knock and Amandeep Khare’s 24. Harsh Rathore was effective with the ball for the Bulls, picking up two key wickets to help restrict the chase.
