Gang War in Raipur: Double Murder in Two Hours Caught on Video
Raipur
A gang war erupted in Raipur, leading to a double murder within two hours. Harish gang members killed Rohit Sagar with a knife following a dispute at a liquor shop. In retaliation, Rohit’s associates dragged Harish Sahu out of his house, kidnapped him, and brutally murdered him 3 km away. Both incidents occurred in the Vidhan Sabha police station area.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kirtan Rathore, the first murder took place during an argument at a foreign liquor outlet in Amaseoni. CCTV footage captured the attack, showing individuals armed with knives and sticks assaulting Rohit. Harish Sahu and 3-4 others were identified as his attackers.
After Rohit’s murder, his gang sought revenge as they stormed into Harish Sahu’s house, dragged him out, and transported him 3 km to Khalbada, where he was tied to a chair, beaten, and fatally stabbed.
The first murder occurred around 8-9 PM. While the police were investigating, they received information about Harish’s abduction and subsequent killing two hours later. Both bodies were sent for post-mortem, and injured gang members are undergoing treatment.
A video from the liquor shop shows three to four men with knives and sticks, attacking others after an argument. One of them, identified as Harish Sahu, allegedly committed the first murder before falling victim to the second.
Harish Sahu’s brother, Sandeep, claimed that Harish was trying to mediate the dispute at the liquor shop and has been wrongly implicated. Meanwhile, local corporator Gopesh Kumar Sahu stated that 25-30 people arrived in a mini truck to abduct and kill Harish, calling such incidents in the area deeply troubling.
Both parties involved in the gang war reportedly have prior criminal records, including cases of assault and threats. The police have detained 2-3 suspects and are interrogating them while searching for others who remain at large.
