Robbery of Rs 27 lakh from businessman in Raipur

A businessman was reportedly robbed of Rs 27 lakh in the state capital Raipur on Wednesday. It is reported that the criminals entered the businessman’s office in broad daylight, brandished a pistol, and took him hostage. They then escaped with a bag full of money. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and are currently checking nearby CCTV footage. The incident occurred in the Kharaura police station area.
According to reports, Vishnu Sharma, a businessman from Tilda, deals in the purchase and sale of paddy between farmers and rice millers. Around 11 am, he had just arrived at his Kharora office when two criminals entered and drew a pistol.
The criminals intimidated the businessman and locked him in an inner room. They then took the bag full of money and fled. Before leaving, the criminals also pulled down the shop’s shutter from outside. After some time, the businessman managed to get out of the room and called the police to report the incident.
The police are questioning local residents and have detained some suspects. It is reported that the criminals arrived on a motorcycle.
According to police the robbers held the businessman hostage in a room behind the shop. The businessman called the police to report the robbery, after which the police arrived at the scene and gathered information about the suspects’ appearance. He assured that the accused would be arrested soon.
