Amit Shah Slams Congress in Chhattisgarh Rally, Promises BJP Victory in Upcoming Elections
Raipur: In the upcoming Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Elections, the first phase is set to take place on November 7 for 20 assembly constituencies. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its preparations for the upcoming polls. Former chief minister Raman Singh, along with four other candidates, addressed a public rally today in Rajnandgaon, where they were joined by home minister Amit Shah. During his speech, Shah strongly criticized the Congress party.
Amit Shah claimed that the Bhupesh Baghel government had orchestrated the lynching of Bhuvaneshwar Sahu as a means to further their appeasement policies. He vowed to bring the perpetrators of Bhuvaneshwar Sahu’s murder to justice. As a symbolic gesture, the BJP has fielded Bhuvaneshwar Sahu’s father, Ishwar Sahu, as a candidate. Shah also pledged to inform Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the lotus, the BJP’s symbol, will blossom in Chhattisgarh on December 3.
Shah highlighted the role of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the creation of Chhattisgarh. He praised Dr Raman Singh’s tenure as chief minister, where efforts were made to transform the economically challenged state into a developed one. The BJP’s initiatives included recognizing Chhattisgarhi as the state’s language, offering farmers relief from 14 per cent interest rates, and implementing the Public Distribution System (PDS). Dr. Raman Singh was affectionately referred to as “Chawal Wale Baba.” Shah questioned Bhupesh Baghel’s achievements in the past five years, suggesting that the government was focused on settling scores with certain individuals.
Shah further alleged that the BJP government was the first to provide nutrition security in Chhattisgarh, emphasizing its role in skill development, offering 150 days of employment to MGNREGA labourers, and providing 50 per cent reservation for women in Panchayats. He criticized the current government for eliminating the 20 per cent cap in these initiatives.
Amit Shah accused the government of indulging in corruption and referred to it as the “20 per cent cut” government. He expressed concern over job opportunities for the youth and questioned the state’s current situation under Bhupesh Baghel’s leadership.
Shah also took a jab at the Gandhi family, suggesting that they were the only ones prospering. He insinuated that the murder of Bhuvaneshwar Sahu was driven by electoral politics. Shah warned against the possibility of communal tensions if the Congress were to return to power, alleging that they would continue with their appeasement policies. He called for the election of the BJP government to address these concerns and set things right.
