Chhattisgarh’s First Tennis Academy Set to Open in Grand Inauguration on Wednesday
Raipur: In line with the state’s commitment to fostering sports and providing world-class facilities for its youth, Chhattisgarh is ready to unveil its inaugural Tennis Academy. Built at a cost of Rs. 17.75 crore, this academy sprawls across an expansive 4-acre land and boasts a seating capacity for 3,000 spectators.
Scheduled for inauguration on September 27 by chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, this Tennis Academy is a testament to the government’s dedication to sports development. Sports and youth welfare minister Umesh Patel and PWD Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu will also be present for the inauguration ceremony.
State-of-the-Art Infrastructure
This Tennis Sports Academy, located in Raipur’s Labhandi area, is divided into three main sections:
1. Administrative Building: This three-story structure houses administrative offices, accommodation rooms, a hall, gymnasium, a VIP lounge, and a media center. It also provides seating for 500 spectators.
2. Hostel Building: Another three-story building, this section is designed to accommodate offices, director’s rooms, parking facilities, a kitchen, and a dining area.
3. Main Stadium: The academy’s centerpiece, the Main Stadium, boasts a substantial seating capacity of 2,500 spectators, ensuring a grand stage for tennis enthusiasts.
Impressive Features
The Tennis Academy offers an array of remarkable features:
– It comprises one main synthetic tennis court and five practice synthetic courts, all constructed over a sprawling 4-acre area.
– Utilizing the advanced Ultra Cushion, a 9-layer synthetic surface, these courts meet international standards.
– The main tennis court accommodates 2,000 spectators, and the main building includes a VIP lounge with seating for 500.
– Ample parking space for 150 vehicles ensures convenient access for attendees.
– State-of-the-art lighting, with a capacity of 40,000 watts and a lux level of 1500 for the main court and 4,900 watts with a lux level of 500 for each practice court, guarantees top-notch visibility.
– A dedicated 315 KV substation ensures regular power supply, backed by a 165 KV DG set for emergency power requirements.
– Both the hostel and the main building are air-conditioned, ensuring the comfort of players and visitors.
– The hostel provides 46 rooms, accommodating up to 92 players, and features a spacious dining hall for their meals.
