President Droupadi Murmu offers prayers at Adishakti Maa Mahamaya Devi Temple
Raipur: President Droupadi Murmu visited the Adishakti Maa Mahamaya Devi Temple located in the historical and religious city of Ratanpur on Friday. She offered her prayers and extended her wishes for the happiness, peace, and well-being of the citizens of the country. This marked President Droupadi Murmu’s first visit to the temple of Mahamaya Devi in Ratanpur, and the Rajsi Shringaar of Maa Mahamaya Devi was performed on this auspicious occasion.
Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, and minister of state for tribal development Renuka Singh were present on the occassion.
Ratanpur, with its rich historical and religious significance, boasts a glorious past. King Ratandev I, ruler of the Kalchuri dynasty, chose Ratanpur as his capital and constructed the Adishakti Maa Mahamaya Devi Temple in the 11th century. Maa Mahamaya served as the Kuldevi (family deity) of the kings of the Kalchuri dynasty’s Ratanpur branch. The temple hosts a grand fair during both Navratri festivals, attracting visitors from every district of the state.
