Four were killed in lightning in different parts of Chhattisgarh.

Raipur. The weather took a turn in Chhattisgarh on Saturday. As per the predictions of the Meteorological Department, light rain occurred in most districts of the state, with thunderstorms on Saturday. On the other hand, four people died, and four more got injured in separate incidents in the Manendragarh and Gaurella-Pendra-Marwahi districts of the state. The electricity supply was interrupted due to the strong storm in Bemetara.
Due to a sudden hailstorm in Pendra on Friday, the inauguration and foundation stone laying programme of various development works organised by Nagar Panchayat Pendra got deferred. Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Charandas Mahant had to attend these events.
Amidst the changing weather, reportedly, lightning killed four people in Manendragarh and GPM on Saturday afternoon. Two youths and a middle-aged person died in the Manendragarh district after being struck by lightning while several received injuries. Both youths were sitting under the Mahua tree when the incident took place. They are Ashish Toppo and Sion Toppo. A middle-aged man died in the Janakpur area of the district.
A 13-year-old minor died, and two people were hurt due to lightning in GPM. The injured are receiving treatment at the hospital.
