Chhattisgarh awarded “Excellent Award” for successful implementation of PMFBY

Raipur: Chhattisgarh has received the “Excellent Award” from the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, for its successful implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, a crop insurance scheme.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey congratulated the officers and employees of the Agriculture Department for this achievement. Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh is among the top-performing states in the country when it comes to the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
During the 9th National Review Workshop held on Friday in Raipur, organized by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, the Agriculture Production Commissioner of Chhattisgarh, Dr. Kamal Preet Singh, was presented with the “Excellent Award” along with a citation by Manoj Ahuja, the Secretary to the Government of India.
On this occasion, Special Secretary (Agriculture) Dr. Ayyaz F. Tamboli, Director Agriculture Ranu Sahu, Director Horticulture V. Matheswaran, Additional Director Horticulture Bhupendra Pandey and Joint Director Agriculture BK Mishra were also present with him.
It was informed in the national review workshop that the ambitious scheme of the Government of India, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, has been successfully implemented in Chhattisgarh with the Digiclaim module for automatic calculation and settlement of the crop insurance claims from the National Crop Insurance Portal. The portal has also achieved significant success in registering and delivering insurance benefits to farmers. Under this scheme in Chhattisgarh, a total of 6,77,558 eligible farmers were provided with crop insurance benefits in the year 2022-23. The farmers received a total amount of Rs. 192.41 crore as insurance amount.
