Kanker district leads in Chhattisgarh in issuing Ayushman cards to beneficiaries

Kanker: With the issuance of Ayushman cards to 06 lakh 26 thousand 21 beneficiaries, the Kanker district has surpassed other districts of Chhattisgarh and achieved 85 per cent of the set target.
According to information received from the health department, 98,913 cards have been issued in Charama development block, 96,731 in Narharpur development block, 1,02,716 in Kanker, 79,710 in Bhanupratappur, 1,40,634 in Koyalibeda, 51,132 in Durgukondal, and 56,185 in Antagarh development block.
Meanwhile, through the Ayushman card, BPL families are receiving free treatment of Rs 5 lakh, and APL families receive free-of-cost treatment worth Rs 50,000 in registered hospitals every year. Under the scheme, the facility of free treatment according to eligibility is being provided through Ayushman cards in 45 registered hospitals, including 36 government hospitals and 9 private hospitals.
In the Kanker district, a total of 7,068 patients have received the facility of free-of-cost treatment worth Rs 55.22 crore from registered hospitals in three years. Under the scheme, in the year 2020-21, 18,177 beneficiary patients were provided with Rs 1214.79 lakh of free treatment, in the year 2021-22, 26,052 beneficiary patients were provided with Rs 1828.56 lakh of free treatment, and in the year 2022-23, 33,839 beneficiary patients were provided with Rs 2478.81 lakh of free treatment.
