Police crackdown on illegal drugs leads to over 1300 arrests in Bilaspur.

The police in Bilaspur are working hard to stop the use of illegal drugs in their area. They started a campaign called Nijat, which means “freedom” in English, to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and to take action against people involved in illegal drug use.
Under the guidance of the Superintendent of Police, Santosh Kumar Singh, and additional police officers, the police have taken swift action against people involved in illegal drugs in all police stations in Bilaspur. They arrested over 1,300 people in non-bailable and preventive drug cases in just two months. They also sent 228 accused to jail.

In addition to these arrests, the police confiscated illicit liquor and drugs, including 280 kg of ganja and other intoxicants. They also seized a total of 50 lakh precious stones. The police are also cracking down on those who create disturbances in public places by consuming liquor, which has resulted in several arrests.
Despite warnings, some people continued to sell illegal drugs, such as cough syrup, tablets, and ampoules. The police have arrested these individuals, including a medical operator selling syrup for intoxication and a dairy operator selling intoxicants.


The police are also taking action against those who drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol. They caught 501 such people and made them pay a heavy fine of 10,000 rupees each.
To raise awareness about the dangers of drugs, the police organized 505 programs in schools, colleges, and public places. These programs aimed to educate people about the harmful effects of drugs and encourage them to lead a drug-free life.
