Raipur: Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in Chhattisgarh, laborers will receive a daily wage of Rs 221 from April 1, 2023. The Union Ministry of Rural Development has published the state-wise daily wage rates for the financial year 2023-24 under MGNREGA in the gazette.
The new wage rate has been fixed at Rs 221 per day for unskilled workers working under MGNREGA in Chhattisgarh and this will come into effect from April 1, 2023. For the current financial year 2022-23, the wage rate was fixed at Rs 204 per day by the Ministry. This marks an increase of Rs 17 for the upcoming financial year.
