Fair prices for farmers: CM’s decision to purchase 20 quintals of paddy per acre receives positive response from Ambikapur farmers

Ambikapur: In yet another step towards ensuring fair prices for the farmers’ for their produce, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has announced that the government will purchase 20 quintals of paddy per acre at support price. This announcement has brought a wave of happiness among the farmers in the district.

Expressing his happiness, farmer Jayakaran Ram, a resident of Karenya village in Ambikapur development block, said that the chief minister has decided to the limit of paddy procurement from 15 quintals to 20 quintals per acre. This decision will strengthen our economic situation with the increase in the amount of paddy sold. Paddy procurement at support price and the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana have boosted the morale of the farmers in the state.

Similarly, Gopti Singh and Arunendra have said that the government has brought about significant changes in agriculture and farming in the past four years by taking farmer-friendly decisions. The interest of farmers in agriculture has increased, and those who had previously considered farming a loss-making business are now returning back to farming.

Shyamsundar, Balmukund, Gorathnath, Shri Pawansai, Junsai, Shivmangal, Sukhram, and Ramesh of the Darima tehsil praised the government’s paddy procurement scheme, saying that it pays special attention to farmers, laborers, and women. The state government will now purchase 20 quintals of paddy per acre from farmers, which will not only fulfill their daily needs but they will also be able to save money for the future.

Meanwhile, the decision made by Chief Minister to purchase 20 quintals of paddy per acre at support price from the upcoming Kharif season has created a positive and joyful atmosphere among the farmers. Last year, paddy was purchased at the support price at the rate of 15 quintals per acre. The direct benefit of the additional purchase of 5 quintals of paddy will be received by the farmers.
