Chhattisgarh: Nearly 105 lakh metric tonnes of paddy lifted for custom milling

Raipur: Paddy lifting for custom milling is going on at an expedited pace and it is now in the final stages. So far, about 105 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted, while DO has been issued for the lifting of about 107 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. This year, 107.53 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured successfully from the farmers at support price, the officials said.
Both the processes of paddy procurement and the lifting of paddy from procurement centers for custom milling was started simultaneously, which significantly reduced the transportation cost. Moreover, the long process of paddy lifting and transportation after the procurement was also simplified, reducing the time consumed. The state government has procured 107.53 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from more than 23.42 lakh farmers till January 31, 2023 and Rs 22, 067 crore has been paid so far to the farmers against the paddy procurement.
