Opposition BJP will be holding a divisional-level protest demonstration against the killing of its leaders by suspected Maoists in Bastar on Thursday afternoon. The BJP workers will cover the 12 assembly constituencies of Bastar. Later, they will stage a dharnaat office of Bastar range ID in Jagdalpur. The BJP will stage ‘Chhattisgarh jam’ across 78 assembly constituencies of Chhattisgarh, except 12 seats of Bastar, on Friday.
BJP State President and Bilaspur MP Arun Sao had raised the issue of killing of BJP leaders in the LokSabha three days back. He had said that, in 30 days, 4 BJP office bearers have been brutally murdered and questioned the ruling party’s rile behind these incidents.
At the same time, the Director General of Police has written a letter to the NIA demanding an inquiry into the killing of BJP leaders in Bastar. The DGP has written a letter to the NIA in this regard.
The letter reads ‘Last week three people’s representatives were murdered in Bastar. “Naxalites are targeting people’s representatives, common citizens in due to continuous shrinking of Maoist’s area. The efforts of Central Security Force and State Police have succeeded in eradication of Naxalites in the past years,” reads the letter.
On the other hand, on the instructions of the state leadership, BJP state general secretary Kedar Kashyapand Bastar division in-charge Santosh Pandey had taken a virtual meeting of BJP office bearers of all the seven districts of the division. The protest to be held on Thursday has been discussed in detail in this virtual meeting. BJP’s Bastar District President Roop Singh Mandavi said that there will be hue and cry against the worst law and order situation in the state and the killing of BJP leaders.
Dharna demonstrations will be held in 12 assemblies of Bastar under the leadership of State President Arun Sao and Leader of Opposition Narayan Chandel. The Inspector General of Police office will be gheraoed in Jagdalpur. The next day, on Friday, BJP workers will protest on major roads in 78 state assemblies.
State BJP General Secretary Kedar Kashyap said that on the instigation of the Congress government in the state, BJP leaders and workers are being murdered in a planned and planned manner. In protest against this, a protest will be held in front of the IG office. Kashyaptold that the next day BJP leaders will protest on more than 400 roads of the state from 2 pm to 4 pm in the 78 assembly constituencies of the state. He said, BJP will not let the attempt to suppress the voice of democracy succeed.
On January 16, 2023, BJP leader and former sarpanchBudhram Kartam died in suspicious condition. The body of the BJP leader was found at some distance from the house. The BJP called it a murder.

On February 10, 2023, Sagar Sahu, district vice president of BJP, was shot dead in Chhote Dongar of Narayanpur.
On the evening of February 11, Maoists killed BJP leader Ramdhar Alami on the border of Dantewada-Narayanpur district across the Indravati river.
