Irrespective of their party, politicians asked to inform police when they move out in LWE-hit districts: CM

Superintendents of Police of Naxal-affected districts will hold meetings with all political parties.

Chhattisgarh government swung into action after the murder of four BJP office bearers in the last one month in Bastar division. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has spoken to Director General of Police Ashok Juneja on the situation and asked him to tell his SPs in the naxal-hit districts to call meetings of all political parties in their respective districts. The political party members should be asked to strictly follow the security protocol. 

Superintendents of Police of Naxal-affected districts will soon convene such a meeting. The Chief Minister has made it clear that the security of politicians is important, irrespective of the parties.

Talking to reporters at Raipur helipad before leaving for Koriya district, the Chief Minister said it is true that some BJP leaders have been killed which unfortunate, which shows that the Naxalites are doing this act out of frustration and anger. The Maoists are baffled by the government’s developmental policies. “I have just directed the DGP to hold a meeting of the SPs and tell them to hold meetings of all the parties in their respective districts which are affected by the naxalism. 

The political group members should inform the police about their movement for their safety, said the chief minister.

BJP leaders had accused the government of reducing the security of their party leaders. Responding to this, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said, the allegation regarding removal of security of BJP leaders is wrong. Kedar Kashyap has lost the election, Gagda has lost the election, but still they have has Z-plus security. We have not lacked anywhere. See Dr Raman Singh who is also enjoying adequate security more than a chief minister. On the other hand, the security of Sonia ji, Rahul ji and Priyanka ji has been removed. 

The Chief Minister said, BJP president J P Nadda had just come and what he said regarding the crime in Chhattisgarh has no bases. There is also a bundle of lies with him. 

The Chief Minister said, under the rule of Raman Singh, the wealth of Raman Singh and his family members increased many times. Raman Singh had looted. “We had sought permission from the Governor to investigate, but permission was not given. We will seek permission from the new governor.” He said that at the time of BJP, 39.93% people were living below the poverty line in Chhattisgarh. Out of that, the districts of Bastar division were the poorest in the country. This condition was created by that double engine government.
