Durg: Contributing his bit towards society, Tripesh Sharma organizes a blood donation camp every year on his only daughter’s birthday to make the occasion more special and memorable.
“Patients and children suffering from sickle cell disease and thalassemia need blood regularly and there should be no shortage of blood for their treatment”, he says. For this, he organized a blood donation camp at Durg District Blood Bank on January 25 this year on the occasion of the 11th birthday of his daughter Tanishi Sharma whom he lovingly calls ‘Pari’.
The donor started coming to the special camp at 9 in the morning and the drive continued till 6 in the evening. Father Tripesh donated blood along with his family members. Friends, businessmen, departmental officers, and employees were also encouraged to donate blood for a good cause. Donors associated with the social committee “Disha” Health Department, Electricity Department, Postal Department, Save Indian Family, Navdrishti Foundation, Durg Hamar Bazar Team, Maheshwari Blood Donation Service, and citizens of Durg-Bhilai donated a total of 147 units of blood in this camp.
The blood units deposited in the blood bank during blood donation will be useful to save the lives of the patients. The blessings of those patients and their families will be received by the blood donors as well as Tanishi. Their prayers will continue to give new energy and strength to all the blood donors and Tanishi.
Durg MP Vijay Baghel, Vice-Chairman of the State Backward Classes Commission R.N. Verma, Corporation Chairman Rajesh Yadav, Zila Sahkari Kendriya Maryadit Bank President Rajendra Sahu, CMHO Durg Dr. J.P. Meshram, Civil Surgeon cum Chief Hospital Superintendent District Hospital Durg Dr. Voy K Sharma, Jeevandeep Members Dilip Singh and Dushyant Dewangan, Officer-in-charge Blood Bank Durg Dr. Neha Nalwaya, Roshan Singh and all Blood Bank Employees, President of State Health Employees Association Satyendra Gupta were present in the camp.
The father expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards all the donors for their contribution. Certificates were distributed to the blood donors and they all extended warm greetings to Tanishi on her birthday wishing her a long and healthy life.
