Chhattisgarh’s Journalist Protection law would serve as a model for the rest of the country: Cm Baghel

Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, attended the New Year’s evening meet and greet event organized at the Raipur Press Club on Sunday. Extending New Year wishes to the media persons, he stated that with the help of journalists, the topic of the Chhattisgarh model has reached the country and the world.

He expressed gratitude to the journalists. He said that the media took an active role even during the difficult times of the Corona pandemic. Many journalists died as a result of this. He paid tribute to the journalists who died early during the Corona crisis and offered his sympathies to their families.

He added that the Chhattisgarh government is always ready to help journalists. The journalist security law proposed here will become an example for the whole country. He also said that on the demand of the Press Club, he would consider giving exemption in interest on the home loans of journalists.
On the occassion, chief minister Baghel released the calendar for the year 2023 published by Satpura Wildlife Foundation and Dainik Vishwa Parivar newspaper at the function. Senior journalists Asif Iqbal and Rajkumar Soni also addressed the function. President of Raipur Press Club Damu Ambedare expressed gratitude to chief minister Bhupesh Baghel for providing financial assistance to the families of journalists who lost their lives due to Covid-19, providing accommodation to journalists, and for considering the demands of the Press Club sensitively.
