Khairagarh: Farmers reaching Gauthans with great enthusiasm for paddy stubble donation

Raipur: In yet another significant effort to promote the initiative of paddy stubble donation of the state government, the district administration has urged the cooperative societies to encourage farmers to donate paddy stubble in Gauthans.

Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai Collector Dr Jagdish Kumar Sonkar chaired a meeting of managers of the cooperative societies located in the district and asked them to motivate farmers–who are selling paddy through the societies–for donating their stubble in Gauthans instead of burning it. The initiative is witnessing a good response with farmers reaching Gauthans with great enthusiasm to donate their paddy stubble.

Farmers Jagrut Verma, Sanat Verma, Ramakrishna Verma, Rakesh Verma, Krishna Sahu, Kishore Sahu, and Satyendra Sahu of Cooperative Society Ataria, Padadah donated 7 trolleys of stubble to Kukurmuda Gauthan on Tuesday. Similarly, farmers of Gram Panchayat Panduka, Mudhipar, Khaprikalar, Vikrampur–Ravilal, Moolchand, Bhuvaneshwar Pal, Gyaneshwar Verma and Vishal Patel–donated 7 trolleys of paddy stubble.

A total of 10 trolleys of stubble each were donated by farmers of Ataria and Bhorampurkala (Singhori) Society, Naresh Mahilange and Rekhlal Sahu respectively. The district collector has directed to felicitate both the farmers at the committee level.

Meanwhile, a total of 34 trolleys of stubble were donated on the initiative of the district administration. The district administration has appealed to the local farmers to voluntarily donate paddy stubble in Gauthans in large quantities so that the dependent cattle continue to get adequate fodder uninterruptedly.
