Dr B.R. Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Day Program Organized at CU.

Bilaspur. A program was organised at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (Central University) at 9 a.m. on December 06, 2022, on the Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Babasaheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. The Chief Guest of the program was the social worker and advocate, T.R. Nirala. The program was presided over by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal.
The Chief Guest and other guests offered floral tributes at the graceful statue of Dr B.R. Ambedkar on campus. After this, the guests were welcomed with bouquets. Dean of Student Welfare, Dr M.N. Tripathi, delivered the welcome address.

In his presidential address, Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, while paying tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar on his 66th death anniversary, said that Dr Ambedkar was a great man who envisioned a united India. Dr Ambedkar always opposed the implementation of Articles 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir. He insisted on seeing men for what they were. He claimed that Ambedkar possessed unrivalled administrative abilities, human values, and intellectual ability.
Professor Chakrawal, the Vice-Chancellor, emphasised that Dr Ambedkar dedicated his entire life to social harmony and justice and fulfilled his responsibilities to the nation and society with utmost devotion. He stated that our country is fulfilling Dr Ambedkar’s dreams by adhering to his ideals and principles. Professor Chakrawal stressed the importance of developing India and that everyone must perform their duties and responsibilities honestly and with integrity.

The Chief Guest of the program, social worker and advocate T R Nirala said that the role of Dr Ambedkar has been crucial in building an egalitarian society. He added that we should never forget our history. Baba Saheb’s words and ideas are the beacons for legal decisions today.
The dignitaries were honoured with mementos. Department heads, teachers, officers, and students from the university attended the event.
