Raipur. Chhattisgarh will host the 85th plenary session of the Congress party in the capital Raipur in February 2023. It was decided at the party’s steering committee meeting on Sunday in Delhi. Bhupesh Baghel, the Chief Minister, attended the meeting, presided over by Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge.
Chief Minister expressed happiness that the committee unanimously decided to hold the session in Raipur. “It will be a historic and proud moment for us,” said the chief minister.
Party sources said that Congressmen from all over the country will reach Raipur to attend the session. Stalwarts of the Congress State Committees and AICC will participate.
Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi can also be involved in this. The State Congress Committee will soon announce the details after a high-level meeting regarding its preparations. Last time around 12 thousand people from all over the country reached the national convention held in Delhi. This time too more than 10 thousand Congress leaders are expected to reach Raipur.
Those who attended the meeting included Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chief Sonia Gandhi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, senior leaders P Chidambaram, Anand Sharma, Meira Kumar and Ambika Soni.
Rahul Gandhi did not attend the meeting due to Bharat Jodo Yatra entering Rajasthan.
