Domestic tap connections provided to more than 16.42 lakh rural families in the state under Jal Jeevan Mission

Raipur: Pure drinking water is an essential necessity in every household,and to ensure sufficient water supply in rural areas of the state,16.42 lakh domestic tap connections have been installed in the state under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Rapid work is being done to complete the works of Jal Jeevan Mission in the rural areas of the state within the stipulated time.

Detailed review of the works of solar-based, retrofitting, multi-village and single-village schemes is also being done from time to time by Jal Jeevan Mission director Topeshwar Verma. He has given instructions to the officers to make necessary  arrangements to ensure  running water in schools, sub-health centers and Anganwadi centers and ISA training centres, directions have  been given to start slogan writing and painting on walls for the promotion of the works of Jal Jeevan Mission as well.

Along with this, instructions have also been given to ensure that the updation of the information related to the progress of works in  is entered in the IMIS portal. In the budget of the financial year of 2022-23, a provision of one thousand crore rupees has been made for the Jal Jeevan Mission. Along with this,  a target of providing tap water to 23 lakh 57 thousand 744 rural families for the financial year 2022-23 has been set. So far, 6 lakh 18 thousand 491 rural families have been provided tap water in this financial year.
