IAF Aerobatic Team Sarang Thrills Raipur Ahead of Chhattisgarh Rajyotsava 2026

Raipur, October 30. The Indian Air Force (IAF) aerobatic helicopter display team, Sarang, took to the skies over Raipur on Friday, carrying out a rehearsal flight ahead of Chhattisgarh Rajyotsava 2026.

Residents gathered on the rooftops of houses and commercial buildings across the capital to watch the advanced light helicopters perform synchronized manoeuvres. Schoolchildren and youths lined open terraces to capture the spectacular flypast on their mobile devices.

Senior district administration officials, including Collector Dr Gaurav Singh and District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Kumar Bishwaranjan, observed the flight from the rooftop of the multi-level parking complex at the Collectorate premises. Additional Collector Kirtiman Singh Rathore, Regional Transport Officer Ashish Dewangan, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nabh Singh Kosle were also present.

“The display by the IAF Sarang team brings pride to the residents of Raipur. The skill and discipline shown by the pilots reflect the nation’s defence capabilities and technical strength. Such events inspire young citizens to consider careers in the armed forces,” Dr Gaurav Singh said.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has initiated preparations for the full-scale IAF Sarang Helicopter Display, scheduled for November 2 at Sendh Lake in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. The air show will begin at 11 am, featuring indigenous HAL Dhruv helicopters performing aerobatic formations to mark the state’s foundation day celebrations.
