20 More MBBS Seats Approved for Raipur Medical College, Intake Rises to 250 from 2026-27

Raipur: The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved an increase of 20 MBBS seats at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial (JNM) Medical College, Raipur.

With this approval, the college’s annual MBBS intake will increase from 230 to 250 seats from the 2026-27 academic session. The MARB conveyed the approval through a Letter of Permission (LoP) issued on Friday.

JNM Medical College is affiliated with the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and Ayush University, Chhattisgarh.

The college has steadily expanded its undergraduate medical education capacity over the years. Established in 1963 with an annual intake of 60 MBBS students, the institution increased its intake to 100 seats, 150 in 2009, 180 in 2019, 230 in 2023, and now 250 seats for the 2026-27 academic session.
