Amidst controversy over Bollywood flick ‘Pathan’ and ‘Bhagwa’ clothes used in a song of the movie, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that saffron color is the color of sacrifice and why should Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dalget so possessive over the colour.
To a query, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said, “Saffron is the color of the flame of the fire of an Yajnawhich is sacred. It is the color of sacrifice and what sacrifices have been made by the VHP and BajrangDal.
Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer film Pathan is going to release on December 25. In Chhattisgarh too, Shiv Sena has threatened cinema hall operators to not release the film.
The Chief Minister has also cleared the stand of the state government regarding the obstruction of the central government in the old pension scheme and said, “The money lying with the Center in the pension case is due to the contribution of the state government and the employees. The central government will have to return that money. Now we are working out how that will happen.” The state government has implemented the old pension scheme, but Rs 17 thousand 240 croreis deposited with the central government towards the contribution of the employees appointed after 2004. Efforts are being made to bring it back, said the chief minister.
Amidst the reservation dispute in the state, the Chief Minister hopes that the Governor will sign these bills soon. In a message to the people of the state on the completion of four years of Congress government, the Chief Minister said, “All the colleagues in the VidhanSabha have unanimously passed the reservation bill. In this, on the basis of population, 32% reservation for Scheduled Tribes, 32% reservation for Scheduled Castes, Provision has been made for 13% and 27% reservation for other backward classes on the basis of the recommendation of Mandal Commission. Four percent reservation has also been given to EWS. “I am hoping that soon this reservation rule will also be implemented under the signature of the Governor.”
