Man from Raipur Threatens Shah Rukh Khan; Mumbai Police Arrives in Chhattisgarh, Rs 50 Lakh Ransom Demanded from Lawyer’s Phone
Raipur
Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has received a death threat. The suspect’s location was traced to Raipur’s Pandri area. According to Mumbai police, the phone number used to issue the threat is registered under the name of Faizan Khan (42) from Raipur. Following this lead, a team from Maharashtra police arrived at Faizan Khan’s residence in Raipur and questioned him.
During the interrogation, Faizan revealed that he had lost his mobile phone a few days ago and had filed a report about it at the Khamhardih police station. After showing a copy of this complaint, he was issued a notice and released. Meanwhile, security outside Shah Rukh Khan’s residence, Mannat, has been heightened following the threat.
Three officers from Mumbai police stayed overnight at a local hotel and, early in the morning, traced the phone’s location in Pandri before visiting Faizan’s home. After the interrogation, Mumbai police issued a notice to the suspect, summoning him to Mumbai.
The case is being investigated by the Bandra police in Mumbai. The team of three officers has since returned to Mumbai.
According to the DCP, Bandra police station received a call from an unidentified caller who threatened, “I’ll kill Shah Rukh Khan from Band Stand.” The caller demanded Rs 50 lakh, threatening Shah Rukh Khan’s life if the money wasn’t paid. When asked his name, the caller responded, “My name doesn’t matter; I am an Indian.”
According to police, Mumbai police have not provided Raipur police with any information regarding the arrest. The investigation is ongoing, and it remains to be determined if the suspect personally made the call or if someone else used his phone.
Faizan Khan, who is an advocate, had filed a missing phone report at Khamhardih police station on October 2. Three days after his phone went missing, on October 5, a call was made to the Bandra police station using his number.
A case has been filed against the suspect under sections 308(4) and 351(3)(4) of the Indian Penal Code at Bandra police station.
Following the threat, security around Shah Rukh Khan’s residence Mannat has been increased. In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan had also received threats after the success of his films Pathaan and Jawan, and was provided Y-plus security in response. Since then, he has been moving with a heightened security team.
On November 2, Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 59th birthday. Every year, he greets fans from Mannat’s balcony, but this year, due to security concerns, he did not appear on the balcony. However, he did attend an event at Rang Mandir Auditorium in Bandra around 6 PM.
