CSEB Engineers Association demands strict action against people involved in incident

Bilaspur:The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board (CSEB) Engineers Association has strongly condemned the violence and arson committed by the some anti-social elements in the Madwa Power Plant here on Sunday evening.

According to the association, the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police and the Managing Director of the company had reached for a discussion on the demand of the agitators. While the discussion was going one with the chairman of power companies through video conferencing, the anti-social elements launched a fierce attack, indulged in arson and attacked the security personnel and police personnel. About a dozen personnel were injured and some vehicles were gutted in fire. 

Had the administration not acted patiently and courageously, not only would the lives of many employees and officers in the plant be in danger, but there could have been a serious crisis in the power generation and supply system of the state. 

The Engineers Association expressed gratitude to the local administration for tackling the situation wisely. 

It is to be known that the plant was being gheraoed by the agitators for the last two days and the engineers and employees who had gone to discharge their duty were taken into captive. They had to stay hungry and thirstyinside the plant for two days. Some of the employees and engineers were suffering from diabetes. The agitators did how allow the plan to run even on the occasion of New Year. 

Chhattisgarh Electricity Board EngineersAssociation president Rajesh Pandey said that the Association demands from the state government to identify the elements responsible for the incident and take strict action against them, so that no one can attempt to commit such chaotic and dreadful incidents in future.
