Chhattisgarh 'Vaidyas' to provide necessary guidance and cooperation in the operation of country's first Centre of Studies in Indigenous Knowledge

Traditional Vanaushadhi skilled Vaidya Sangh Chhattisgarh will provide
necessary guidance and cooperation in the operation of country’s first Centre
of Studies in Indigenous Knowledge started at Dr. Harisingh Gour University,
Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.

The
centre has been started with an objective of proving the scientific validity of
traditional knowledge-based medicinal system and conservation, promotion and
development of rare and endangered species of forest medicinal plants. An MoU
has been signed between Traditional Vanaushadhi skilled Vaidya Sangh
Chhattisgarh and Dr. Harisingh Gour University on December 24 in this regard.

Chhattisgarh
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar extended their
best wishes and congratulated the Vaidya Sangh for this achievement.

Dr.
Hari Singh Gour Central University, Sagar Vice Chancellor Professor Neelima
Gupta said on the launch occasion of study centre that the university would
provide all possible help for the operation of this center. A land of about
10-20 acres will be made available as per requirement in the university campus
itself for the set up of conservation centre for rare and endangered species of
forest medicinal plants.

As
many as 25 eminent traditional ‘Nadi Vaidyas’ from Chhattisgarh and Madhya
Pradesh participated in this programme.

Lok
Swastha Parampara Samwardhan Abhiyaan Bharat, National Coordinator Vaidya Mr.
Nirmal Awasthi informed that the centre will be operated with the assistance of
central government. He said that eminent traditional Vaidyas of Bastar and
Bilaspur and Raipur participated in this programme, where Vaidyas amazed the
scientists by removing eye webs. Vaidyas from tribal dominated Kanker and Kondagaon
areas gave information regarding successful treatment of lumps and oral cancer
while traditional doctors of Bilaspur informed the participants about
successful treatment of many incurable diseases during the programme.
