Bilaspur MLA Shailesh Pandey raised various issues related to WCD dept in the Vidhan Sabha
Raipur: Bilaspur MLA Shailesh Pandey raised the issues related to Women and Child Development Department and Social Welfare Department in the Vidhan Sabha on Friday. He questioned the departmental minister Anila Bhediya regarding the expenditure and schemes of the Anganwadi center and the funds allocated to the departments in Bilaspur district. He asked how many Anganwadi centers are operating in rented houses in Bilaspur district, how many new Anganwadi centers have been allocated funds from January 1, 2019 to January 31, 2022, and how many new Anganwadi centers have been built. Besides, he also asked which schemes are being operated by the department in district Bilaspur.
In response, Women and Child Development Minister Anila Bhediya said that 449 Anganwadi centers are operating in rented houses in Bilaspur district. From January 1, 2019 to January 31, 2022, Rs 732.9 lakh has been allocated for 117 new Anganwadi Centers and 111 new Anganwadi Center buildings have been constructed. She informed that 31 schemes are being operated by the Department of Women and Child Development in district Bilaspur. This includes Supplemental Nutrition Diet, Mukhyamantri Amrit Doodh Yojana, Mahtari Jatan Yojana, Chief Minister Girl Marriage Scheme, Women’s Awareness Camp, ICDS, Noni Suraksha Yojana, Nava Bihan (Domestic Violence) Scheme, Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyaan, nutritious laddus, Sakhi One Stop Center, Swadhar Greh, and Ujjwala Griha.
Meanwhile, in the period from January 1, 2019 to January 31, 2022, the Social Welfare Department in Bilaspur district has benefited 499184 beneficiaries through various schemes and programmes.
