Raipur Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday met with senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi and AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge for the first time after Chhattisgarh elections and three days ahead of the elections results. The Chief Minister gave his feedback on all 90 assembly seats that went to the polls in two phases in Chhattisgarh on November 7 and 17. Congress has been reassured about forming a new government right from the beginning, and discussions on the formation of the new government were reportedly a part of the meeting. It should be noted that there is a programme for the book launch of Congress’s National President Mallikarjun Kharge in the evening, after which the Chief Minister will return to Raipur. This morning, Chief Minister Baghel had a meeting with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Sharing a photo of this on social media, he wrote – “Had a meeting today at the residence of Congress’s President Mallikarjun Kharge. He has tirelessly worked in the elections of five states. His energy is inspiring for us. I have once again assured him of Congress’s victory in Chhattisgarh.” Baghel had a meeting with Jairam Ramesh, in charge of the Congress communications department. This meeting took place at Jairam’s residence, discussing the current situation post-elections in Chhattisgarh. Alongside, there were discussions on the atmosphere in Chhattisgarh, the status of Congress, and related topics. Baghel also had a courtesy meeting with the National Treasurer of Congress, Ajay Maken, at the party’s headquarters in Delhi. Maken was appointed as the chairman of the Chhattisgarh screening committee by the party for the assembly elections. Before the visit, Baghel had one-on-one discussions with several MLAs. He collected feedback from all 90 assembly seats and presented this feedback before the high command. Prior to the CM, State In-Charge Kumari Selja also conducted one-on-one discussions with all the candidates and compiled a complete report.
